This Usage Policy (also referred to as our Acceptable Use Policy) applies to anyone using Ophelia’s products, services, mobile applications, website, or any features related to messaging, booking, or attending dates (collectively, the “Service”). This policy is designed to keep our community safe, responsible, and respectful — both online and in person.

1. Purpose

Ophelia exists to help people create real connections through safe, exciting, and meaningful dates.
To maintain trust and safety, all users must use Ophelia in a way that aligns with our core values: respect, consent, safety, authenticity, and accountability.

By using Ophelia, you agree to follow this Usage Policy.
Violations may result in warnings, feature limitations, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.

2. Universal Usage Standards

Do Not Violate Laws or Engage in Illegal Activity

You may not use Ophelia to:

  • Buy, sell, or promote illegal goods or substances

  • Engage in or promote prostitution, human trafficking, or sexual exploitation

  • Infringe the rights (including privacy or intellectual property) of others

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction

3. Do Not Harass, Harm, or Mislead Others

You may not:

  • Bully, intimidate, or harass any individual

  • Impersonate another person or entity

  • Misrepresent your identity, age, or intentions

  • Use Ophelia to manipulate, deceive, or exploit others emotionally, financially, or sexually

  • Engage in non-consensual behavior, including stalking or coercive communication

4. Do Not Compromise Physical or Emotional Safety

Ophelia is for real-world dating and social experiences. You may not:

  • Pressure users to meet, share personal information, or engage in unwanted behavior

  • Coordinate or participate in unsafe meetups

  • Use Ophelia to promote violence, hate speech, or extremism

  • Encourage or glamorize self-harm or suicide

  • Share content involving weapons, illegal activities, or endangerment

5. Do Not Share or Generate Sexually Explicit or Inappropriate Content

You may not:

  • Post or transmit sexually explicit photos, videos, or text

  • Solicit or exchange sexual favors

  • Share nudity, pornographic, fetish, or sexually suggestive material

  • Engage in erotic or sexual roleplay within the app’s chat or AI features

6. Do Not Misuse Booking, Payment, or Messaging Features

You may not:

  • Use booking or payment tools for purposes unrelated to dating or event scheduling

  • Falsely confirm or cancel dates to manipulate reviews, visibility, or payments

  • Share misleading event listings, false availability, or impersonate a venue

  • Use messaging features for spam, solicitation, or advertising purposes

Communication, Messaging & Consent

By providing your phone number, email, or other contact details, you consent to receive:

  • Transactional messages: date confirmations, reminders, and booking updates

  • Service updates: relevant information about your account or new features

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
Ophelia will never sell your contact information or use it for third-party marketing.

All users must:

  • Communicate respectfully and with consent

  • Avoid repeated or unwanted messaging

  • Not share screenshots or private communications without permission

In-Person Safety and Accountability

To protect our community:

  • Users must be 18 years or older

  • First-time meetings should always occur in public places

  • Users should share date plans with a trusted friend if desired

  • Ophelia is not responsible for conduct that occurs off-platform but may act on reports involving safety risks or violations

Do Not Exploit or Manipulate the Platform

You may not:

  • Create multiple or fake accounts to evade bans or manipulate outcomes

  • Use automation, scraping, or AI bots to interact with users

  • Attempt to extract user data or model outputs without authorization

  • Use Ophelia to develop, advertise, or integrate competing products

Do Not Engage in Fraud or Deceptive Behavior

You may not:

  • Engage in scams, phishing, or financial exploitation

  • Create or distribute fake reviews or testimonials

  • Use false identities or deceptive media

  • Promote predatory or manipulative dating practices

AI & Recommendation Safety

If you use Ophelia’s AI (Ophelia Oracle or similar tools):

  • You must not treat AI responses as professional advice (legal, medical, or psychological)

  • You must disclose when AI-generated content is being shared externally

  • You agree not to use the AI to generate harmful, explicit, or deceptive material

Enforcement and Reporting

Ophelia may:

  • Suspend or terminate users who violate this policy

  • Restrict access to certain features (messaging, booking, etc.)

  • Report unlawful activity to law enforcement when necessary

Updates

We may revise this Usage Policy as our technology and community evolve.
If significant changes occur, we will notify users via in-app alert or email.
Continued use of Ophelia after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
